Are you searching for success?
Then you should also be looking for a scary little thing called
“Change”
Don’t be scared, because it is the first step towards success.
In order to have the ability to crush both work and life, change is the one milestone every aspiring person must achieve before his/her rise to the top.
Since I have a responsibility towards my readers, I believe that choosing a topic like change and placing it amongst the very first to be discussed, is most apt if we are to begin our journey towards realizing our true potential. The main reason for this lies in identifying why change is so important and where we need to implement it in our lives.
Why don’t we all pause for a moment and ask yourselves – “Are we really scared of Change?”
Don’t we have aspects of our lives that we want to make better?

- Do we have any financial situation that we want to alleviate?

- Do we want to get rich?
-
- Do we have any goals that we want to accomplish?
If the answer to these questions is a “YES,” then all of us, individually, should stop getting scared of change – instead we should embrace Change.
Let me offer you a peek into my own past, so you may find some inspiration:

- I graduated from business school in 2011 (IBA – Institute of Business Administration) – which is literally the best one in the country.

- Initially applied for the best positions at the most sought out companies BUT didn’t get accepted anywhere.

- Forcing myself not to be bothered by the outcome, I kept on applying and saying to myself, “it’s alright, better positions would come up, trust in the process.”

- Accepted the first job that I got: a not-so-glamorous position at an advertising agency.

- Worked for some time, changed industries.

- My turning point came as I chose to dive into the world of sales, when I joined an importing company selling parts and accessories for textile manufacturing firms.

- AND after 5 years of work and duty, I fully felt the need to change – I left the workforce and opened up my own firm.
-
- that’s when I truly got independent!
-
- I was able to implement diverse techniques, sales tactics, SOPs within my own firm and since then have tried and tested so much more.
Today, I feel confident to say to you that if you want to make it big in life then have a millionaire mindset and that only comes if you stop being afraid of change. Once you break the walls of your own mental confinement, you will see that things will start to work in your favor.
One thing I need you guys to do is read a novel called “The Carpetbaggers” by Harold Robbins – It’s not a self help – it’s a work of fiction and it’s fun to read but I found it to be truly inspiring when I read it many years back.
The main character in the book, Jonas Cord, is a man who believes in himself completely and utterly. Because of that he is subconsciously doing all the things he needs to do in order to become an uber success.
I’ll reiterate – IT”S A MINDSET THING!
Before you get change in your life – you have to change your mindset:

- How you perceive yourself.

- How you assess your potential.

- Do you believe in your ability to DO IT?
-
- Do you believe you deserve greatness?
-
- Do you believe that you can become that millionaire or successful person (if that is your goal)
All these positive feelings MUST exist in your mind before you do anything else because it is going to affect your work ethic, determination and discipline which will automatically affect the results that you can achieve.
There is a quote from the book which is worth remembering;
“In the game of life, the winners are often those who adapt to change the quickest.”
So the first key element in shifting your mindset is to not allow yourself to engage in thoughts or speaking words that are opposite to what you want to see in your life. You have to train your mind not to think about negative results. But, if that’s what you mostly do, then the chances of your negativity bearing form will be very high.
What you need to do instead is to imagine and feel the joy of vision happening right in front of your eyes, then you will notice that the universe is starting to shift and accommodate to help that vision become a reality.
Now Let’s do a practical exercise – what I want you to do is to make two lists on two separate pieces of paper;

- On one, write all the things that you want in your life – your dream plans
- On the other one, write all the actions required to get to the things that you want in your life.
For instance;
-
- Need to be physically fit → daily exercise is required.
-
- Desire to have a certain type of business → commit to a certain level of work and discipline.
-
- Own a portfolio of investment in stocks or real estate → changes in spending habits
All in all, your WANTS should be aligned to your ACTIONS.
And only then will you finally start to see what you need to change in your life!
This exercise is very important to bring about CHANGE.
So I will ask again,
“ARE YOU AFRAID OF CHANGE?”
This question stems from the fact that most of us get used to our daily routines and tend to get comfortable at where we are
AND
This is what makes CHANGE so HARD.
All of us get attached to the comforts of our lifestyles. When we get back home, most of us would;
start chillin’,
eyes glued to our phones,
Netflix running in the background,
or wasting time playing video games.
INSTEAD
Can we commit to ourselves?
Such that when we step in our homes after a long day at work, we should instead say;
“I’ll work on my business for 3 hours straight”
or “Imma do a 30-min run on the ol treadmill”
or “lemme see my upcoming expenses, maybe save a couple for the piggy bank.”
NOW
That is Hard!
Because, you might think you are not afraid of change but your actions show that you are more in love with being comfortable than you are to making change.
Speaking about myself, I am very comfortable at where I am. I have my own firm and a team that makes it possible to automate. I focus on branding and the selling part of the business.
BUT
I decided to become a content creator.
Which is NOT an easy task from any angle.
I had to shed my old mindset and re-educate myself.
Sharing views publically.
And now recently made a commitment to creating fresh content every week!
For me, it is HARD work – and I’m just getting started. Because I have a vision and I want to see it become a reality.
On a closing note, take a leap of faith,
Amend your life,
Become productive,
